Jenny Beavan Costume Designer is an Academy Award winner for her work on the Merchant Ivory production A Room With a View. Beavan was also Oscar nominated an additional five times, for The Bostonians, Maurice, Howards End, Remains of the Day all Merchant Ivory productions and for Sense and Sensibility, directed by Ang Lee. She also designed the costumes for the MerchantIvory productions Hullaballo Over Bonnie and Georgies Pictures, Jane Austen in Manhattan, The Deceivers and Jefferson in Paris.Beavans other major credits include Mountains of the Moon for director Bob Rafelson, Black Beauty for Caroline Thompson, and Metroland for Philip Saville.She won the David di Donatello Award for her costumes on Franco Zeffirellis recent version of Charlotte Brontes Jane Eyre. Beavan has also worked extensively in theater. She has designed for the Royal Shakespeare Company Tis a Pity Shes a Whore, York Theatre Royal The Merchant of Venice, Threepenny Opera, the Royal Opera House Carmen and for opera companies in Germany and Holland.She was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work in the lavish television production Mountbatten The Last Viceroy, starring Nicol Williamson, Ian Richardson and Janet Suzman.
